The GOLO Release supplement is made up of all-natural plant and mineral-based ingredients. Some ingredients include omega-3 fatty acids, magnesium, chromium, and fiber. These ingredients are beneficial for people with insulin resistance as they help to improve the body’s ability to use insulin and reduce blood sugar levels. Additionally, GOLO Release may help to protect against some diseases, such as heart disease and Alzheimer’s disease.
According to their website, Release contains 7 plant-based ingredients and 3 minerals. Our body is familiar with plants and their healing properties and can metabolize plant material better than synthetic substances. The composition of plants, which includes carbohydrates, fats, proteins, vitamins, and minerals, is part of our biochemistry. Synthetics cannot mimic the antioxidant protection from plants’ oxidative stress. The ingredients in Release can help you regain metabolic balance and will not only help you lose weight but also supports overall well-being.

Ingredient Breakdown
Let’s take a closer look at the benefits of GOLO Release ingredients.
Magnesium (as Albion dimagnesium malate): Magnesium is an essential nutrient for the brain and body. It helps regulate blood sugar, among its many benefits. Yet a magnesium deficiency is often seen in people with diabetes.
Zinc (as TRAACS zinc glycinate chelate): Zinc acts like insulin when administered to insulin-sensitive tissue and stimulates insulin action. It binds to insulin receptors, activates insulin signaling pathways, and more, all of which result in glucose uptake by cells and glucose clearance from the blood. Zinc is also necessary for the correct processing, storage, and secretion of insulin, and it can protect against the β-cell loss, a hallmark of diabetes. Because zinc is closely tied to insulin functioning, zinc deficiency is associated with poor β-cell function and higher incidences of insulin resistance.
Chromium (as TRAACS chromium nicotinate glycinate chelate): Chromium is an essential trace element used by some people as a supplement. Perhaps most importantly, chromium forms a compound in the body that seems to enhance the effects of insulin and lower glucose levels.
Rhodiola extract (Rhodiola Rosea L root): Rhodiola has been shown to help protect against diabetes in rodents, suggesting it may be a valuable
supplement for diabetes management in humans. However, more research on humans is needed.
Inositol: Inositol is a carbohydrate found in your body and in food and dietary supplements. Inositol plays a role in insulin signaling and may sometimes improve the body’s sensitivity to insulin. Benefits have been seen in individuals with metabolic syndrome, women at risk for gestational diabetes, and women with PCOS.
Berberine Extract (Berberis vulgaris, bark, and root): Berberine is a compound found in many plants, including European barberry, Phellodendron, Oregon grape, goldenseal, and goldthread. Berberine has also been shown to lower glucose levels in people with diabetes. Studies show that it helps your body respond better to insulin and prevents your liver from creating more glucose. As a result, people with diabetes may find berberine helps lower their blood sugar levels. Berberine effectively reduces blood sugar and HbA1c, which are elevated in people with diabetes. It works as well as some pharmaceutical drugs.
Gardenia extracts 10:1 (Gardenia jasminoides, fruit): Gardenia is a plant. The fruits are used to make medicine. Geniposide, one of the main ingredients of Gardenia jasminoides, is effective in inhibiting body weight gain and improving abnormal lipid levels, high insulin levels, impaired glucose intolerance, and insulin resistance.
Banaba extract (Lagerstroemia speciosa, leaf): Banaba leaves are renowned for lowering blood sugar levels. In addition, they’ve been shown to improve risk factors for heart disease and provide antioxidant and anti-obesity activity. Research suggests that these leaves are a safe herbal remedy.
Salaretin Salacia extracts 6:1 (Salacia reticulata, bark): Salaretin® is a standardized extract from Salacia reticulata bark, containing an optimal amount of mangiferin and salacinol. Salacia Reticulata is a medicinal herb from Ayurveda that appears to have anti-diabetic activities, namely by inhibiting carbohydrate uptake from the intestines; it seems pretty effective at this, similar to Acarbose in potency.
Apple extract (Malus Domestica, fruit): Apples are one of the most popular fruits in the world. Apples have a minimal effect on blood sugar levels and are unlikely to cause rapid spikes in blood sugar, even in those with diabetes. They’re also highly nutritious.

Terrible customer service! No one ever answers the phone and the person or persons on the other end of your email responses is just plain rude and unprofessional. The product does not work. I am already on a healthy diet and weight loss, I wanted to try something to get rid of those last 20 stubborn pounds! This did nothing and you have to pay to have it returned, so you pretty much pay for what you use. They advertise 100% money back guarantee, however, if you have to pay for shipping…..sorry that is not 100% of your money back!
Useless product and useless customer service.
I have to say that this article is quite misleading. GOLO is not just about the supplement, and if you do your due diligence, you will see that many do not take it or take it for very long. GOLO is more about lifestyle changes, eating whole food, portion control. It is not just for diabetics, in fact many are not even prediabetic but just have a lot of weight to lose. Following the portion control is really key. This is not a low calorie plan, it is a plan for LIFE, not just for weight loss. I have lost weight and my husband has lost weight on this plan. My labs have improved as well. I wonder if the ones you are quoting for side effects or not having the results they were looking for were maybe just thinking this supplement could do the work for you and it CANNOT. Being healthy requires portion control, eating healthy fats, balance of foods, eliminating processed foods, and being active. THAT is what GOLO supports and those that follow this with or without the Release pills have had huge results. I’ve been doing this for several months now. There is a facebook group that is closed so that only people who have ordered the plan materials and release at least once can enter. On that group, which I’ve been following for months, it is incredible support. Incredible! There are GOLO coaches who are available all the time, whether you are taking the pills or not. They don’t even say that you should take them forever even if you do. They are only if you have a significant amount of weight to lose and you would only take them for a little while. I spent some of the last months on and some time off the pills. I do notice better craving control when I do take them. GOLO website also provides meal plans and recipes, but you don’t have to use them. I have to say that they are really good though. I use them sometimes to try something new but often just cook whole foods. We get so much food on this way of eating that sometimes it is hard to eat it all. Lots of veggies and high quality protein, limited carbs, but carbs are definitely INCLUDED. This article is really misleading. I would suggest anyone looking into this call and talk to them before taking this info at face value. I would also say that some people have said that they had side effects, but most I believe are not due to the pills but this different way of eating. AS your body adjusts over a week or so, they disappear. If you find you are hungry, EAT! No one starves on this healthy eating plan.
After reading reviews on the GOLO product I would not purchase the weight loss supplement for my girlfriend. It really opened my eyes after learning of other peoples experience after purchasing the product and experiencing such side effects and having such a difficult time with customer service and returning golo.
I am so disappointed in this product. I experienced bloating and cramping every time I took it. I called for a refund and I was told no refunds on reorder (tried a sample order in 2015)..Since I will not be getting a refund I will warn others about it.
